Latest News on Civil Defence Recruitment: Here is an updated information concerning the The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), coordinated under the supervision of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board.
officially closed on August 11, 2025. The exercise saw an overwhelming response, with more than 1.9 million Nigerians submitting applications across the four agencies.
The recruitment journey was not without hurdles. Initially slated to begin on June 26, 2025, the online portal experienced delays and technical issues, pushing the start date to July 14, 2025. To ensure all interested candidates had a fair chance, the application window was extended.
Kogi, Kaduna, and Benue emerged as the states with the highest level of participation in the 2025 recruitment exercise, collectively contributing over 510,000 applications—representing more than a quarter of the total entries nationwide. This impressive turnout reflects the high level of interest among Nigerians in joining the country’s security and civil defence services.
All candidates submitted their applications online through the official portal at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, ensuring a streamlined and transparent process. Each applicant was required to select only one agency during registration to avoid duplicate entries. Notably, the recruitment process was completely free of charge, allowing everyone an equal opportunity to apply without any financial burden.
The high number of applications from these states highlights both the eagerness of young Nigerians to serve their country and the increasing awareness of the government’s efforts to make recruitment processes accessible and inclusive. Authorities have assured that all applications will be thoroughly reviewed to ensure fairness and merit-based selection.
At this stage, the shortlisting of candidates has yet to begin. Applicants are encouraged to stay patient and regularly check for updates from the CDCFIB regarding the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
